Palo Duro Films
Palo Duro Films arose through an inspirational journey through the Texas Panhandle. The Palo Duro Canyon appeared like a mirage in the middle of a prairie that was as flat as the eye could see.

Keith Barber: "I was a young boy obsessed with reading western novels. I have always been drawn to the romantic vision of this country's vast open spaces. I fantasized different scenarios that had me wandering across miles of desolate wilderness, fighting the elements and the dangers of a wild and hostile land.

My stories, and the characters within them, are created out of the resolve and the lineage of pioneers that have travelled through my imagination and onto these lands. These characters are strong willed, visionary and all too American ... who refuse to be 'broken' by their circumstances. They appear to be simple people but they're driven by a complexity of spirit. The men and women possess a deeply imbedded mettle that attracts and then eventually bonds them together.

Blue Ribbon Special is a character driven piece that is a poetic tribute to my everyman sensibility and to women with grit that I see as being the personification of pure beauty."
Blue Ribbon Special Synopsis: Sophia is a waitress in a roadside diner. Her situation is critical. She needs to escape but her options are few. She looks to Mike, a quiet unassuming trucker, to give her safe passage to a better place.
